Delicious home cooked food

We loved the food here - a fusion of traditional Japanese and international tastes. The chef is very welcoming and prepared a number of small dishes, a main course and dessert all with local fresh produce. Every dish was extremely well prepared and tasted amazing - we appreciated the hospitality, typical of the people living on these islands. A lovely experience that we would recommend if visiting Teshima.

Full of taste, fresh and local. We had a wonderful dinner experience and a nice talk with the chef. She is very passionate and sincere in the way she cooks, she cares about the origin and the quality of the ingredients used. Probably the best food I had in Japan.

You have to be patient, yes, but if you are, you will be able to appreciate a superb dinner.

Homemade done well. Dinner came to around ¥5000 per person including beer and sake. We were served: a mixed plate of veggie starter, veggie tagine, pasta with a little pork, fish with veggie. In truth all the veggies were the same: aubergine, onion, peppers. We didn’t have pudding. There is a purity about the food and it was well prepared but this is not great cooking. Just homemade done well. However I can understand if customers think ¥5000 per head is expensive.

Homemade comfort food. Particularly the seafood and sweets.

We stopped in for lunch which was a two course set - small local vegetable dishes and pasta. Both were really nicely seasoned and she was kind enough to make mine without meat. Lovely, quiet place for a break between galleries!
